About Imibala Gallery

The main focus of the Imibala Trust is to help provide a primary education to the most needy children in the Helderberg Basin through our Sponsor A Child programme. 100% of a donation to this programme benefits a child identified by the programme  team. Your investment in a child’s future will provide a winter uniform for a year plus some useful and practical resources to support their work in class.

Imibala is best described as a social movement of commitment towards enriching the lives of school going children in significant ways. By this we mean ways that will equip them to be more confident, more responsible, more engaging and also determined to craft for themselves a future that is, frankly, more colourful and more purposeful.
Currently based in, but not limited to, Somerset West we are positioning ourselves as a thoughtful contender in the philanthropy sector. We are essentially a hybrid model of investment, a destination village or precinct amid the Trust office itself with:
Restaurant
Art gallery
Retail shopping
Creative Arts Programme
Sponsor-a-Child Project (involving school uniforms for disadvantaged children in the Helderberg and Graaff Reinet regions)
Computer and Maths Learning
The GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) Pilot Programme
Imibala village is a shared space. It is here to be experienced by visitors, children, foodies, art lovers and shoppers. There are no rules of participation other than thoughtfulness and appreciation. Profits sustain the running costs of the Trust. A hundred percent of all donations are directed towards a specific child identified as needing assistance or just to be able to participate in school and to forge a positive self-enabling identity.
