Roof de Karoo Challenge 2020
Date: Thursday, 15th October 2020 to Sunday, 18th October 2020
The Roof de Karoo is a stunning three-day 190 km mountain bike traverse.
It is the proud product of the Mountain Zebra Camdeboo Protected Environment (MZCPE). This mountain biking adventure journeys over plateaus grazed by herds of antelope, crosses desolate stretches of dramatic Karoo landscape with a unique diversity of fauna and flora and navigates mountain ridges, presenting awesome panoramic views stretching for miles on end.
The 2020 event of the Roof de Karoo has been postponed to the 15th - 18th of October 2020, and explores parts of the 275 000 hectares of the Protected Environment. The MZCPE was created to protect the critical biodiversity of the area that lies between the Mountain Zebra National Park and the Camdeboo National Park in the Greater Karoo. The adventure trail is held in partnership with SANParks and is the only cycle event in South Africa starting and finishing in 2 National Parks.
Entry fees include 3-nights tented accommodation, all meals (Thursday supper to Sunday brunch), a goody bag, 3 nights tented accommodation, delicious Karoo cuisine, drinks, snacks and National Park fees.
With stunning views to marvel at while on the bike, an opportunity to camp out under the Karoo skies and experience true Karoo hospitality and cuisine, this event is as special as the area where it takes place.
Supporters and family are encouraged to come along and embrace the opportunity to discover the other gems found in the area. The organizers will make special arrangements for supporters dependent on availability.
Don’t delay to book your place for this special event. Only 50 team slots are available. Cost per team: R7950, Cost for individual riders: R4450
