Tourism Month Launch and Yellow Square Unveiling
Yesterday, the 3rd of September 2021, Tourism Month was launched at the Camdeboo National Park outside Graaff-Reinet. Weather conditions allowed for a near perfect morning. It was well attended, the setting on the road to the Valley of Desolation being a wonderful spot to announce launch details.
Opening and welcome was conducted by The Hon. Mayor Deon de Vos, followed by the purpose of Tourism Month Launch by Chairman of the local LTO Mr. Janus Schoeman. Mr. Vuyani Dayimani, CEO of the Eastern Cape Provincial Tourism delivered the Keynote Address, which was followed by the unveiling of Camdeboo National Park's Yellow Photo Frame, led by Executive Mayor Cllr. Khunjuzwa Kekana, and The Hon. Mayor Deon de Vos. Mayor Kekana delivered the closing address, encouraging everyone present to persevere with their work, and not to lose hope that tourism will recover.
A networking lunch session was held on the deck, on the way to the Valley of Desolation view point.
A big thank you to all stakeholders and participants for their support, we look forward to a successful Tourism Month, despite all that the Covid-19 pandemic has thrown at us.
